AXPONA 2023

Well, another year, another show. AXPONA 2023 was again held at the Schaumburg Renaissance April 14th - April 17th. I was joined by Kavi Naidu and Kevin McCann, my partner from Glenn Poor Chicago, for the duration - spinning discs, talking music, and explaining the virtues of the incredible equipment we had in our room. Both Kavi and Kevin have a wealth of musical knowledge, and their passion for all genres of music made their demos highly compelling. It was a great room to spend time in.

Of course, the system we displayed, while not crazy money like so many of the displays at AXPONA, was simply terrific. Luxman’s new L-507Z integrated amp ($8995), D-07X SACD player/DAC ($9995) and PD-151 MkII turntable with optional acrylic dustcover ($6490) and Luxman MC cartridge ($2695) was a perfect compliment to the newest Harbeth Compact 7 loudspeakers ($4500 in Cherry). In addition, we had YG Acoustics new PEAK Series “Tor” stand-mount loudspeakers ($12K). The YGs will be in our store later this summer, and we’re honestly thrilled to have them. We used the new, affordable Lateral Cadenz equipment rack/furniture, Puritan PSM 156 XX power “cleaner” system and Kubala-Sosna interconnect and speaker cables. We had a number of people tell us that ours was their “favorite room“. I had one guy tell me that he simply liked “the culture” in our room. Interesting…….

I had such a great time this year that I committed to AXPONA for 2024….
